Interesting. I think it needs LEDs in the neck ;)

****ing right it does! You can never have too much cheese on a guitar!

Has nobody told him you can play faster if you scallop the fretboard?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Sure, why would he want to play on a 7 string? He's ****e. Dave Mustaine is sooooooooooo much better!!!11!!! LOLZ

BTW, that neck through is 24.75" scale, compared to the current 25.5"!

Floppier strings, eh? Wuss. If he was a good player at all he'd have 11s on a 27"

Pfft, he'd have 50's on a 47" scale! Let's see him bend those!!!

And doesn't Petrucci use Ernie Ball Not Even Slinkys?

I've no idea, nor do I care tbh. Looks nice but when all your guitars are custom made, they're all nice, I'll wager.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, I assume they'll be selling them as sig models.

Eventually, but I reckon those ones are for Petrucci's use on the upcoming DT tour, once he's happy with them, they'll knock off a production model.

TBH, I'm not mad on his sig guitar, I'd say it's the dogs bollix and all, but aesthetically I feel it could be at least 48% sexier.

I really like the body shape on it. Love the 4+2 headstock design too.

Think this is next on my list.

Tell me this, how do ESP get away with making that and PRS got screwed for their singlecut which, IMO, has little to do with the Les Paul. Made in USA thingy?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Gibson only holds the copyright in America. ESP's and LTD's are made in Korea, Indonesia and Japan. I remember reading on the Shamray boards that Shamray can use any body design practically cos they're only copyrighted in America but they can't put Gibson, ESP, Fender etc on the head cos they're trademarks.

Don't forget Gibson sued ESP in the early 90's cos of their explorer copies were pissing on Gibsons.

I have an ESP 62 Jazz Bass... I mean, 400 Series bass, made in Japan in the mid 80's. It is identical, and I really mean identical, in practically every way to my Fender 62 RI :p

Yup. ESP started as a replacement company don't forget!

I'd love an ESP neckthrough strat, 3 single coil EMG's, floyd rose, maple board... Or this

TBH if I was spending that much I'd just get a Les Paul proper. There's just something about the originals, y'know? :)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

I really doubt you'd get a brand new Gibson that looks that good for that price though...

Or maybe I'll just start a custom shop and build them all myself

I use Big Ken's mint Iced Tea burst 99 Les Paul Standard, which cost €1300 total, as my reference here, and his brothers goldtop whihc cost about the same. I particualrily like the Iced Tea burst, a magic guitar :D

    Brand new though???

And look at the description of that Eclipse II. Find me the mistake!

    Sunbursts aren't brown?

Meh, the difference between a new guitar and a well looked after 2nd hand one doesn't justify the price discrepancy. That S2120 I got from Chris could pass as new, honestly. Would I rather save a grand or take a couple of wee scratches? Gimme scratches.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    True.

Nope, Brown Sunburst wasn't it. Look again...

    Coil taps.

    They're EMG 81's. You can't tap them.
