Hi,

I got this supposedly from Paypal, but I don't know whether I should trust it or not:

Dear
,

We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your PayPal account
from a different IP address.

If you recently accessed your account while traveling, the unusual log in
attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you did not initiate
the log ins, please visit PayPal as soon as possible to check-up your
account information:

http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run

Thanks for your patience.

Sincerely,
PayPal

Please do not reply to this e-mail. Mail sent to this address cannot be
answered.

Email ID PP432461

My oul lad and I can access this but we've not had this problem before.
When I click on the link, on the bottom the address states it's from www.muk.pe.kr.

If in doubt, email Pay Pal and ask them.

Its a big fat fake, i have seen that email 50 times tonight already. I work in internet security and you would be amazed at the amount of fools that respond to these emails and give out their username and password.

If you have any doubts then just DON'T CLICK the link.

Always ALWAYS log into the main site.

Nope, that's a fake. Paypal have said that they will never send emails like that - besides, it should be https:// anyway. Paypal have a report spam thing, so forward it onto them, if you're in doubt - they get back within a day or so.

I just never believe emails, end of story, if they want to tell me something they can tell me when I log on to their site. Gmail is very good at spotting these phishing emails.

If you get these emails forward them to spoof@paypal.com.
The same with the ebay ones send them to spoof@ebay.com.

Generally if they don't address you by your name then it's most likely dodgy.

They are getting better at these hoaxes though... it looks like they know how to spell and everything these days.

I got this one yesterday:
_______________________________________

Since the 1st of June all the online stores participating in Verified by Visa
will not accept for online transaction Visa cards not registered in Verified
by Visa. Be sure to activate your card before the 1st of June or you will not
be able to use your Visa card for online transaction.

HOW IT WORKS - VERIFIED BY VISA
Verified by Visa protects your existing Visa card with a password you
create, giving you assurance that only you can use your Visa card online.
Simply activate your card and create your personal password. You'll get the
added confidence that your Visa card is safe when you shop at participating
online stores.

HOW IT WORKS - ACTIVATING YOUR CARD
You may activate Verified by Visa for your Visa card by entering your card
number over our secure server. If your card issuer is participating in
Verified by Visa (most issuers are) you'll complete a brief activation process.
You'll verify your identity, create your Verified by Visa password and you're
done.

HOW IT WORKS - SHOPPING WITH VERIFIED BY VISA
Your card is automatically recognized.
Once your card is activated, your card number will be recognized whenever you
purchase at participating online stores. You'll enter your password in the
Verified by Visa window, your identity will be verified, and the transaction
will be completed.

NOTE
If you already have your personal password with Verified by Visa but nevertheless
got this email, you must go through the activating process again as
the last activation of your Visa card had not been done properly.

Check availability and activate your Visa card over our secure server:
