Posting for a friend who belives there employer has put in
hidded camers at work. It's not a cash type of company just a warehouse
and office. Is this legal to do without telling the employes?

its entirely legal to have cameras in a place of work without the knowledge of the workers, however, it can not be used as incriminating evidence.
    its allowed for security purposes.
