what i want to do is get a new case and power supply and motherboard

    that uses pc2700 memory 333mhz

    has ide connections

    and can be overclocked

is it possible to overclock a P4 2.6 Northwood

and suitable cpu fan and case fans

yes your chip shoud overclock Ok, i would say 3GHz Stable (Although your RAM will be a major bottleneck) with the Heatsink listed below.

    Motherboard €47

    512MB PC2700 RAM €52

    Case €74

    PSU €69

    Heat Sink €29

    Thermal Compound €14

These Parts are by no means Top of the line but they should meet your needs, how much are you prepared to spend?

i was thinking of this case and PSU

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/OcUK_Value.html

    OcUK Value (6097) Gaming Case Black - 400w PSU (CA-003-OK) = 61 euro

ya cant complain, it looks good, the only thing i would be slightly worried about is the PSU, what brand is it, very important part if yer planning on overclocking to have a good Stable PSU.
