    No, it's not a new character, as far as I know it's someone that was in the Chamber of secrets, I read that on the J.K web site.

    Yea, but there was lots of speculation about Ron so I thought I'd put him in. Lupin is a half blood as far as I know and the others...well as you said, no one said that the HBP had to be a wizard.
