    Hi all on Paranormal.

There is a large group of us (10 ish) interested in going to a ghost hunt/investigation. Is there anything coming up soon? We are in Waterford so somewhere in the south-east is preferable.

    What is involved?
    What do we need?

None of us have had much experience in this area so we're not sure how to get involved.

    Thanks people :)

Not my field of expertise, I'm more involved in unmasked and piecing together illuminati type conpiracies... but this may help?

    Oooh boogey woogey.

I've gotten this attitude a lot. Whats this all about, are ghosts one of the top ten causes of death in Ireland today or something?

What exactly is the big deal? What terrible outcomes have people suffered when they weren't "careful"?

mental illness, obsession, possession ;) an inability to detatch from what went on if it was really peculiar. I know Im not being fully serious here, but it can and does cause problems, be they in the mind of the person, or otherwise.

A level head, and a lack of hysteria among your group :)

It's not only that, but going around in the dark is its own danger... You could easily trip over something or fall down a hole, then there's also the fact that you could get arrested if you haven't consulted the property owner.

But yeah, on the spiritual side, you do need to be careful as well... Leaving yourself open to negative influences is not a good thing to happen...

I don't think he was talking about the dangers of arrest and blundering in the dark... And you still didn't answer my question as to the negative spiritual effects. "Not a good thing"...?

Completely offtopic, how did the move to London work out?

Aside from possession, all those things are a risk of pretty much anything in life. Are these in anyway particularily associated with the spiritual? Do ghosts cause mental illness or does stress? Do ghosts cause obsession, or does a very interesting subject?

Well, from what I've seen, they could cause you bad luck, or mess with your head, plaguing your dreams and such. My mum had that happen to her ages ago, though I forgot what the item that was used was called. Suffice to say, it was a lot like an ouija board. She didn't use the thing again after.

It worked out okay, though I'm having a bit of trouble sorting out a few issues at the moment. That said, this weekend I'm heading to Maes Artro for an investigation, and I'll get a chance to put my new camera into action :)

It is very possible to get obsessed with hunting ghosts, so much so that it can be a detriment. You wouldn't want to get to that stage as from what I've been told, it could fcuk you up, though it would do so in different ways. There's a possibility that ghosts could cause stress or mental illness, from them messing with your head too much, though it depends on if the ghost is a good or a bad one. Of course, since a ghost has no physical form, all they can do is attack you psychically.

imho ghosts can cause extreme stress in themselves. If you 'pick up' one that wont go away, it is so frightening and causes you to wonder about your sanity so much you can actually have a breakdown.

Yeah, that's very true. I kinda forgot that aspect of it.

I was joking ;) I wondered how long it would take for someone to come back with that: 5mins, keep up the good work.

for those that believe ... no evidence is needed
for those who don't ..... no evidence is enough

    Thats so not true....

Its what qualifies as evidence is usually the debate. For most sceptics its the apparent absolute lack of strong evidence thats the problem...
