I need some very good and quick advice.

I'm supposed to be flying to Spain tomorrow so I just got my passport out a few minutes ago, and realised it was two weeks out of date. I know it was stupid not to check before now, but I assumed it would be valid for longer than this. Ya see, I got my first passport in September 1995, it got lost in the meantime, so in 1999 I got it renewed. I assumed that the earliest this would be valid for was 'til September 2005, if not 2009. But it's not.

I know it was me own fault for not checking before now, but what can I do? I'm supposed to be flying at 12.25pm tomorrow (Tuesday).

    Thanks for any help offered...

Ring whoever you are flying with... Iberia / Aer Lingus ... ask them what to do.

Contact the Irish and or Spanish embassies and ask them what to do.

Get your ass up to the passport office in Dublin 9am in the morning with your ticket and photos, birthcert etc... whatever you need. I got it done the day before 3 years ago. With 4 hours to do it, I don't know. Your only shot though.

Its a queue/ticket system there so the earlier you're there the better.

Hope you are flying from Dublin. Goodluck

ring/go straight to the passport office in the morning, with proof of your flights.

they can make a passport on the spot if they want to.

i know a girl who was going from dublin-london-(somewhere else, forget)
anyway she was able to get from dub to london with her passport, and while there found out it had expired. she pegged it to the irish embassy who made her a passport in about 1 and 1/2 hours. may have been a temp, dunno but there is hope yet.

Yeah, I'm heading from Dublin. I was thinking that al I'd be able to do would be to get to the passport office and hope I could get the passport in time for the flight. Or maybe to change to a later flight if possible (but probably not).

    Thanks again.

A girl I know got her passport renewed the morning before she flew to New York and her plane left at 1pm.

You need to have all your stuff ready first thing in the morning. 2 Passport photos signed by your local garda, passport form (found at local garda station), old passport. Then you need to be there as early as you can...you also need to be prepared to flirt with the staff as they will tell you it will take longer than you can afford time wise but if you flirt it's magically ready in no time at all.

/EDIT You're also going to need a fair amount of money too, I think it is more that you would usually pay for a passport.

If you bring your tickets to the passport office they will do it otherwise they will tell you that next day is the best they can do!!!
