    Anyone heard of this guy?

    Search out some tracks if you haven't.. great voice, very lo-fi. From the sounds of it I actually thought he was an old 60's hippy type at first; turns out he's in his twentys and what albums he's got have been released only recently (although I still suspect he's a bit of a hippy type).

    I'm very much impressed with what I've heard so far anyway.. very nice and easy-going stuff. I honestly suspect he'll be a pretty big name soon enough.

    Just spreading the word :)

    I've got a couple of his albums and a double-7" single he did last year. He's quite excellent and he's playing the Village in July. He's also played with the band The Angels of Light who are well worth checking out.

    what style / genre music?

    Style is lo-fi singer / guitarist. Nice melodys, often impromptu sounding. Sounds maybe like a cross between White Stripes (voice-wise) and Elliott Smith. Although that could give you the complete wrong impression.

    I think you can sample some tracks on this page.

    He sounds a little like Marc Bolan from T-Rex voice-wise. Plays a lot of strange finger-picking guitar. Very unique sounding. Here he is on Jools Holland from last year.

    Don't like him at all, it's like he's been made famous just because he's got a unique voice.

    Unique != good though.

    Nah, it's not that unique. He's just talented. I can see why people wouldn't like him but I think he's great.
