The later Creative cards (SB Live, Audigy, etc) AFAIK are all multi-channel. As for higher-end cards, I'd imagine the M-Audio range would be a good place to look.

What sort of budget do you have to work with. With soundcards i wouldnt suggest skimping on quality or price.

This would be a good entry level card,

The Creative cards don't work particulary well 'out of the box' with Traktor. While you can divert the sound from your monitoring to one of the outputs (left/right/rear/etc), the sound won't be great and it's a lot of fooling around with cables if you use the speakers for games/movies as well.

The only way I've managed to get Traktor working with my Audigy is to have another crappy sound card already installed in the system and to install a thing called Asio X

    http://www.asiox.tk/

This somehow mixes the two soundcards into one driver that can be properly manipulated in Traktor, so that your headphones come out sounding pretty good, and your mix sounds more or less perfect.

My SB Live worked fine with minimum hassle, audio quality is good as can be expected with a cheapo card. I use an external mixer though (you're asking for a headache trying to mix with a mouse).

If your going the internal route then you wont be playing out with it so you might as well save money and just use double mono outputs.

if your getting serious and wanna use it out..

Behringer are bringing out soon, what looks like it might be the ultimate interface and soundcard for traktor.

    linky

Hercules Dj console has sound card too and works with traktor (one was for sale cheap on boards recently too) behringer is USB 2.0 though. :) looks sweet

That behringer interface looks SICK! e200 seems like a great price as well, I'd like to try using Ableton Live with it :)

    itd suck for ableton

you need continuous controllers or a total recall unit for that

Berhringer make some good mixing desks but also some crappy mixers. DJX700 is ment to be really crap due to it being manufactured in China using cheap components.

The mixer sold well and is probably really good value if used for beginner mixing, but if you getting something like this you might want to be playing out.

I'v heard the DJX700 is faulty and has problems after a couple of months abuse.

Can anyone confirm if this controller is the same or is it one of they're quality products?

Oh and also, does it have a monitor?

The BCF controller is simply that.. a controller .. the other ones however

the BCD2000 and Hercules Dj console have both headphone monitor AND mic inputs and can function simply as external 5.1 channel soundcards as well.

there is another behringer unit too which is kinda a cross between the BCF2000 and BCD2000.. link here .. it is the BCA2000

Difference with this is it an 8in/out soundcard and controller, but no total recall built in as with the BCF or BCR (rotary version).

Hi, I'm new here and I'm a DJ who just started using Traktor. I have a Pioneer CDJ 800MK2 and Traktor Scratch Pro A6. I am having trouble setting it up - I can see everything there on my Laptop screen: skins, songs, effects and graphics etc etc but when I press the 'Play' key nothing happens except for a strange noise.
    Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Try asking for help on the Traktor forum. It's useful having an account on that site because you'll find that you'll need advice every now and then. People there are generally very helpful.
