Why are they always laced in the strangest way? Bought a new pair today and one part is always at the top, the other at the bottom.... totally unnatural.

and mine was if it bothers you so much, be the person to change it

its probably because the shoe shop people are always in a hurry whilst lacing shoesies so they're not always perfect.

Thanks to RugBug and Lump for their helpful and insightful contributions.

Now, moving along, has anyone else noticed this lace situation? You would expect shoes to be laced in the most common fashion ... however most of the shoes you find in shoes have this awkward setup.

when i worked in a shoe department i used to lace the laces properly and neatly on display. it is generally only the left one laced wrong when you buy them cos the right is on display. way they are sent from suppliers.

Aren't they laced like that because it looks the most presentable? No laces crossing over and bits hanging out, etc.

Sounds feasible alright when you are talking about the presentation and not having laces crossed over. It just bugs me as they are so awkard to tie tightly.

I'd say it's because laces are made of material.

Yes that is so quite annoying, although what is even more is them penneys jeans i bought a pair yesterday for painting the livingroom they were only 8 yo yos anywho the most annoying thing happened, i could not get the size stickers off, i had to get the iron out and steam them off what was left after tearing off as much as possible, it was just so annoying, the quicker the EU re-intoduces textiles quotas again the better and keep those crap chinese products out. then again they were only Eur8 if i was a pair of levis or wranglers i'd be making the sales assistant remove the labels.

God I thought I had issues with my laces until reading that! Actually, why would you care about the size sticker if you were going to paint with the jeans on anyway?
