whats the deal with bringing a gun up there?

Now that's a question with an unfortunate answer :(
It used to be a simple case of writing to the PSNI on a standard application form and getting a free visitor's permit; now you have to write to the NISSU and get them to put your name forward to the PSNI for a visitor's permit, which is no longer free :( I'm starting to think that getting a Northern Irish FAC might be the best option, but the rules on that have changed as well, I believe. Have to go read the Firearms Act 2004 to see :(

With this kind of notice it might be pushing it a fair bit OP, but you could try your luck and see. The hassle is that for years it needed three weeks notice to get the visitor's permit (and it could be squeaked in in as little as a week in some cases where the PSNI knew the shooter from their having shot up north so many times before), but with the new rules, there's some confusion and much red tape :(

Results are out (and have been for a few days, but I've been swamped at work :( ).

    The qualifying round.
    The finals.
