    Hey im doing volunteer work in Haiti this summer and myself and 2 other volunteers are headin to the dominican republic for 2 weeks after.We're flyin into Santa Domingo so if anyone knows anything about the place id really appreciate it!!

    I was there last year for a week. It is a very poor country and the city can be a bit scary in some parts. People kept approaching us to act as a guide and eventually we took one out of fear. I was expecting much more with it being the first stop of Columbus to the Americas, but the place is a bit of a let down. But thats just my opinion and I was only there for a short time
