    Why does the media round off numbers completely inaccurately?

    [font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
    The (NAC) centre had been closed for almost six months since high winds damaged its roof in January.
    Advanced maths was never my forté, but I'm pretty sure the start of January to now (20 May) is at most 5 months... the a/v media said 5 so why do they put 6 on the web page?

    It's gotten to the stage I don't take every detail for granted.

    It is what it's.

    It's done all over the place in all sorts of ways. If I had 1 euro you would not say I had nearly a 1000 euro, but if I had 999,001 euro, you'd probably say I had nearly a million, although it is the exact same amount away. We have the kilobyte, which is not 1000 bytes, but 1024 bytes, but called a kilobyte for convenience. The media are not immune to this kind of thing, so it is there too.
