Jazz/funk/soul/disco/rock/blues/latin and loads more places but the importance of Electro to hip-hop can't be overestimated; in fact i would go as far as saying that Electro is hip-hop in its purest form since it laid down the blueprint to the music we have all grown to love over the last 25 or so years. Tomorrow i'm gonna be taking it back to the era where this **** really took off with an electro special on Black on Red on Corks RedFM 104-106. Show kicks off at 7PM, the Electro mix at around 8.45 listen on-line at www.redfm.ie and don't forget the lino!

I'll post full details of the tracklisting next week but here's what a taster!

Afrika Bambaataa followed by Kraftwerk....that's some ecletic ****, kudos
    :D

hardly that eclectic, kraftwerk were a HUGE influence on electro, and were plundered for samples by all the electro producers of the day... its more "2cleverly joining the dots and knowing his history" than eclectic imo

Big up Stevie G! we share initials, lol

Yeah nice one boys for the comments the point with those two tracks is that Bamabataa sampled the Kraftwerk number. Anyway this weeks special deals with James Brown and the funk era so i think i'll start another thread!
