    I have Radeon 9700 Pro

recently I OCed it with radlinker, not much like 50mhz, core and memory, it was ok! but about a week later it game very strange artifacts during a game, and went back to stock speeds, but they are still present :(, when I restart they go away, but when I launch a game they reappear, and now recently they started appearing if even I restart, then at times nothing appears, and it works fine, then it begins again....

    here are the screenshots

Yes it would seem that you overclocked it a bit too much. Best thing to do would be to run a diagnostic check on the card but from the screenshots you've provided it looks as if it has bitten the dust.

are the green lines visible at the bios screen?

    Try reinstalling the drivers.

Also check the temperature on the heatsink by touching it (briefly....they can get very hot).

Have to say though....looks like mine did when I screwed my 9800 pro. If they're not there all the time, you could try underclocking and see how that affects things.

download a porgram Called "ATI tool" and run the "Find MAX Mem" , "Find MAX Core" (the buttons might and probably are called someting else but ya get the idea) and it will tell you when errors start to appear, if errors appear on stock speeds then i'm afraid your card is for the bin. (Might be worth Lowering the Core/Mem below there Original Speeds.)

If you were still using the stock heatsink and fan that came on the card then it could well be down to the card overheating. The fact that the card still gives the artifacts now when it is returned to original speeds is not a good sign though. You would really want something along the lines of an Arctic Cooler on any of the Radeon 9700/9800 models before overclocking them, as the stock cooling was a bit minimalistic and ineffective. Try going 'the other way', underclocking it on the core and the ram using Radlinker, maybe minus 30-40 MHz on each and see if it still gives artifacts. If it is clear when underclocked then maybe fitting an Arctic Cooler would allow you to run it at its stock speeds again. If it is still corrupted when undewrclocked then I reckon you'll be shopping for more than a cooler I'm afraid as that would definitely seem to indicate irretrievable damage.
[Edit] I see there were some others suggesting the underclock as well while I was typing this.

interesting, I tried that, it game errors on default speeds, lowered clocks, restarted, doesn't do it again, upped clocks to default clicked scan, no errors again

but I notified one thing, it doesn't do it, since I opened a garage's window, and little wind blew in....

so maybe it really is cooling,

I'll try in game test later(can't do it now, torrent finally picked up some speed so don't want to turn it off)

if it doesn't do it, in games too(hopefully) then it sure is the cooling and prolly buy that Arctic cooler you suggested soon, or maybe just keep the window open? ;)

Just in case, what is the price for X800Pro?

Thanks for all the help guys!!!

when you say temp is ok, do you mean it's hot? It should be. If it's not, the heatsink may not be seated properly or the thermal goop may have dried and a bit of arctic silver would sort you out.

I'd leave it underclocked for now though if I were you.

nah, what I meant is, it's hot, but it's not extremely hot, it's ok hot

yep will leave it like this, I'm not too keen on upgrading, since I'm planning to do a complete upgrade(Mobo,CPU,RAM,GPU) in about a year, so if this card will still operate at lower clocks, I won't do anything about it

In case Csource_God doesn't come on again today I'll answer on his behalf. I believe he was asking €300 for the X800Pro cards. They are brand new as well, I believe, lots of lads on here seem to have got one from him and I have seen no complaints.

You should try an Arctic Cooler if opening the window is affecting it favourably. Makes quite a difference in the cooling, I must say, the stock cooler is pretty small for the task required of it on most 9800Pros that I've seen (even the larger than average cooler on my own MSI 9800Pro got ditched in favour of the Arctic Cooler by it's previous owner, happy days for me of course :) ). If you are in Dublin you may be able to get one for about €15-20 locally. Unkel was looking for one about a month or two ago and got one somewhere in Dublin so he might know where to find one. Think Khannie might also be a good person to ask as I think it was he who mentioned www.hitide.ie (who are based in Clontarf apparently) when Unkel was looking

The x800pro retails on Komplett for 70 to 100 euro more than that price while the x800se retails for 300ish.

I'd be interested to know where he is making his profit from so I would or does he sell at a loss from the goodness of his heart. Or am I just being cynical.

EDIT: I'm taking it that this isn't a once off sale as you say he has sold to a few people so must have a few x800's running about.
