Fax relay box

After a previous post someone pointed me in the direction of some software that was just what I needed (much apreciated) that basicly has the capacity to collect email and based on various rules forward it in the form of a fax to various numbers.

I've got it working on a test basis with a single fax modem but was wondering about methods of speeding up the send process so it can get through more emails/faxes in a shorter period of time. The software can address multiple modems on various com ports as far as I can see, so obviously there's scope for filling all available pci slots with modems but I was curious about alternatives, can you get single pci card modems with more than one channel on them? Or is is possible to run a series of usb versions of a usb hub? Or even some form of specialised "fax box" with the ability to use multiple analogue lines?

The emails would probably come in spurts at cetain times so the faster they got faxed the better.
