i always have to play my soundtracks in a media player other than itunes because of the way itunes splits compilation albums into "Artist" categories..
and leaves me with lots of folders within itunes with just one song in them.

i've had a look through the 'preferences' and can't find what i'm looking for.. is there something i'm missing?

Sort your library/playlist by artist ascending (up arrow)

If you click on Edit > Show browser when you are in the Library view you'll get a 3 pane window at the top, one for genre, one for artist and one for album... and you and use 0, 1, 2 or 3 of them to filter your music...

So for me I would have tonnes of albums, so I would use the soundtrack genre, all artists and that would leave me with all the soundtrack albums... easy peezy..
