Just seen it.... My god, they weren't joking when they said it was dark!

Can anyone tell me what Padme's final words were in the movie? I couldnt make them out...

    blah blah blah

Not that I (personally) didn't know already, but hows about putting spoilers on stuff like this, huh?

    Good
cos there are gonna be stacks of people who have the movie ruined for them with the above? he hardly gave anything away now did he.

oh wait, he mentioned that the mammy dies. but they told us that 24 years ago didnt they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,304 ✭✭✭✭koneko

Some people don't know what is or isn't shown at the end of the movie (and some would prefer not to know anything that resembles a spoiler), and the answer to the question would most definitely be a spoiler.

I'm not referring to the fact she dies, duh, obviously everyone knows that, but that she dies in the movie, and all the details, are unknown to a lot of people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 128 ✭✭RobbieBonham

I never said she dies...I asked did anyone know her last line in the movie? Everyone had a 'last line in the movie!'

(a PM would do....genuinely couldnt make out what she said)

    Thanks

if you didn't know anything about a film you were thinking about going to see, you wouldn't look at a thread where people rated it with a poll?

why not? surely it would give you an idea if it was worth seeing or not.

I thought it was very good. As expected the dialogue was kinda crap, i really dont think thats Lucas's strong point. Action, lightsabre fights, CGI all top notch, and it definately makes up for the last 2 films. I would even go as far to say it rivals the originals.

Went to see it last night and loved it although the latter half of the movie was spent dividing my time between watching the film and concentrating on keeping my distended bladder under my control. Great stuff though, if only Mr. Lucas could have instilled the same efffort into episodes I & II, loved the R2 scenes early on and the sabre fight with greivious was great, Hayden Christensen can't act for peanuts though, just that whole pouting teenager thing, that he does quite well!
Sound in the intial space battle seemed a bit muted in Coolock UCI though, not immersive like the end battle of Return of the Jedi, maybe it was just me.

dum dum dum dum de dum dum de dum...DE DE DE DE DE DU DU DE DU

I enjoyed it. Didn't catch all of those words from Padme either.

It filled in a lot of "whys" and "hows" I had from the first two movies.

    Ok
Hayden Christiansen can act as he has proved in movies like Shattered Glass. I reckon it was Lucas's poor direction and scripting again. Look what he reduced Liam Neeson to in Phantom Menace.

He may of struggled with acting to a blue screen also. Many actors do and both Neeson and McGregor have complained of it.

I pmed you Padme's words RobbieBonham.

Very very very good film, bar the dialogue. CGI was excellent and the action was superb.

the film was top notch IMO, Yoda is 1337!!!!1 I did not like the fight with Dooku, it wasn't up to my expectations, but the other fights made up for it, except in part the Grevious one

enjoyed the movie found the first 40 mins or so to be quite tedious espiecially the r2 comic moments just felt there was no need for them at all

agread the r2 bits and the sepertist droids trying to be funny didint need to be there

    ok nopw the movie itself

I thought it was very very good rivled the orginals, they went on allot about the prophecy of anakin allot but in the end it was true
    great battles
    great sabre fights

general grvies was a bit dissapointing didnt get to see enough of him fight
loved seing the emperor fight been waiting for that for so long he is soo powerfull

now any of u know what the orginal plot for this movie was? cause what we saw wasent the orginal stroy the orginal plan for the movie was FAR better so i wqas ver dissapointed that they changed the story allot of the stuff was the same

the end scene and how vader gets his suit and the battle at the start all that was supposed to be in it but they left out a huge part that sounded so good when i read it like 10 or 12 years ago now

still tho great movie just with they went with the orginal story

I think the whole trilogy, and indeed, the six films, would have been alot better had Anakin had any charisma to begin with, instead of the snotty little 'upstart' he seems to have portrayed from the beginning. Don't know what Padme saw in him.

I'm impressed. I loved the thing. And I always wondered how the jedi got wiped out (sucks to be them uh?). My favorite is Obi-wan he lives through all three and Yoda too. There was a cartoon thing they had it was about the 3 years between the clone wars and revenge of the sith my little brother was watching it and I decided I'd join him. I'm glad I watched it it explained a lot. I have no complaints about this movie. Yeah Haydens not that good but it was the best out of the other 2. I WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN!

"Don't know what Padme saw in him."

its the cute thing robbie nothing like using the oul' skywalker charm especially on an older woman!!

    typical tatooine teenage disco dialogue
    "are you an angel?"
    "no fukk off (giggle)!!"
    "is your mate an angel?"
come on lets get locked & stay up to watch the suns rise

Reckon they started the new trilogy with Anakin too young, plus Jake Lloyd, crap child actor, a plank of wood could act better than that.
Had we seen an Anakin of about 12 or 13 with the whole Adolesence thing kicking in, would have had us believing a character develops through the 3 films, instead we never get any hint of his dark streak until episode 2.
Reckon they will go back and fix the ropey genosis arena alien effects for a "special edition" though, they really suffer compared to the flawless visuals in the new movie.
    Anyone else think so?

They were "There is still some good in him"
Luke mirrors those words in Jedi.

    And I liked it.
