I Mainly use a PC and am a bit paranoid about Malware(always have best AV/FW spy and adware protection) i know the malware threat is not nearly as bad in the Mac world.
So just a quick question about what kind of Antivirus People are using on there mac's (only really interested in OS X) i’m reasonably new to macs and am not sure what measures people go to protect there systems. i mainly use a PC (but am starting to use the Mac a Lot more) I had a quick search through this forum and didn't find to much on antivirus software at all, so if a few people would be so kind as to post what AV/FW/Spy/adware protection there using that would be great thanks.

I’m currently using the Built in Firewall in OS X 10.3 and a Trial version of Sophos AV using safari so not to worried about Spy/adware

    Help is always appreciated

I've never had Antivirus for OSX. I only use the internet for browsing though. No problems for years.

tbh at the moment there isn't really any need for anti-virus apps for Mac OS X, because viruses are generally meant to run on windows because it's full of security holes etc..

This may change, but with a solid unix foundation behind it viruses on a Mac are about as likely as microsoft are to make software without any bugs in it

I think the reason there are more viruses on windows than macs because only idiots would buy a PC and try to ruin other live

    but thats only a guess

not sure about that, a lot of people use OS X's BSD subsystem as a (rather sexy looking) platform for hacking.
