Im in the boston area for the next 8 days and i forgot to get a convertor plug at dublin airport so i can use my laptop here.My laptop uses 6.2A and 19.2 V so does that mean i have to get a convertor that supports upto 120 watts.I have tried everywhere but cannot find anything that will do for my laptop.Anyone have similar problems when abroad in the states.

Hang on ... just about every laptop power adapter I've seen will take anything from 100 to 240V, 50 or 60Hz as input, so the only thing you'll be needing is a replacement power lead to plug into your existing adapter. I'm assuming it isn't one where the power lead is permanently wired into the power adapter. The range of different connectors used on the power leads is fairly small so it shouldn't be too difficult to find one.

Try radio shack, or if your staying with a mate or at an address for more than two days, order it of amazon or nextag and they'll ship it out over night.
Off Topic, but still handy. Be wary of buying camcorders there i got caught in NYC last year, if they says PAL Compatiable (the us standard is ntsc) check to make sure they feed out in PAL and not PAL 60 if they feed out in PAL 60 walk away you'l find it difficult to transfer to vhs here with PAL 60. Just incase you get seduced by many of those american electronics which are away cheaper than here especially with the dollar being weak and everything.
    Enjoy your trip ! :)

mmhm just get an American cable to work with your existing power supply, thats the way im using mine. Mine is a "clover" typed cable. Circuit City, Best Buy or Radioshack will have them.
