Medion 20gb player in aldi tomorrow, I have been hard pressed to get details about this one and I'm thinking of buying it.I thrawled the net and found some small bits of info. Primarily that its based on the same chip set as the IPOD. Its a bit cheaper than the Creative ZEN-TOUCH 20gb player but the zen needs software installed on any machione thats its put onto. The medion had USB on the go and an SD slot. Downsides are the battery life which is put as 8hours and it has a very plastic appearance.Extra batterys are supposed to be available to buy and Iv seen 2 for sale on EBAY for under a fiver.
Am I nuts thinking of buying this?

I'd say the only downside is the battery. Who cares about the plastic appearance really?? it's for music. If you can get batteries for under €5, well that's pretty cool.

However, I got a 20G touch and a 30G zen xtra for €150 each off the for sale forum. Keep your eyes open and your money will be better spent!

I'm gonna do it I am more concerned with it as a mass storage device rather than just purly an MP3 player.

    thats what i meant ;)
youll definitely get something cheaper on boards.

and considering those secong hand prices for decent players
you will never be able to sell the aldi one second hand for more than a few euro.
its a beast of a thing.

The 36months warranty is nice as well as the way it acts like an external harddrive for moving files
