Does anybody know how far in advance you have to start getting the various vaccinations for India. Have I left it too late if I plan to travel there at the start of July?? T

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you're getting them altogether, I recommend not driving yourself home immediately afterwards. (I did, but should probably have been arrested.)

Thanks for that, when are you planning on travelling? Do you think a month and a half is long enough before the trip to get them.

I got my shots less than three weeks before I went and it was grand.

    right... just back now ...

got Poliomyelitis,Hepatitis A & Typhoid today... feeling a bit dizzy ,and my arm has fallen off... but apart from that not too bad....

as someone else said , try not to drive if you can avoid it.... the nurse said it would be ok, but I would try and avoid it... .

i am back in next monday for the rest , plus to get malaria tablets from a doctor...

I am going in less than 3 weeks , and there was no problem....

It's much less painful to get them in your arse cheek than your arm.

    got the second lot today....

I had Tetanus and diphtheria ... it seems I won't need the Meningitis as I will only be short time , and won't be backpacking ....

this one was grand ... not dizzy like last week..

also got the malaria tablets from the doctor... so all setup now.. just got the wait for the visa to get back...

are you sure you won't have to get Hepatitis A ?

you can avoid the water , but unless you plan to bring your own food you can't be 100% safe

I got them in my left arm, and could barely change gears afterward.

I'd advise getting everything needed for the country, not just the city areas (I guess it could be prohibitively expensive).

Could some please recommend (up-to-date as I see that this thread goes a while back), what vaccinations I should get for an 11 day trip to India in September?

    Would this be accurate?: http://www.tmb.ie/exodus/country.asp?country=INDIA&mr=10
    Thanks:-).
