Can anyone help out with accomodation? there going to be 5 of us sharing/renting a place whatever near the beach. Can you recommend some places?

What are we going to expect to pay?

We intend on staying in Isla Vista as apparently this is the best place to stay for us J1'ers but I would LOVE to be near a beach!

Help this disorganised soul who is leaving in about two weeks time and does not have a place to stay yet!

I was in Santa Barbara 2 years ago. Your best bet is just to go out to IV when you get there. There will be lost of students who are moving home for the summer and want to sub-let their appartments. Go to the college too, there maybe notices boards about accomodation. Frat houses aswell, but these are really kippy. 8 of us stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment! It was pretty cramped but meant the rent was really cheap at only about $200 a month.
When you get there if you have no accom, we stayed in Banana bungaloes (dunno if its still there). Its a hostel and a bit kippy but its right in Santa Barbara and a bit of craic cos there was lots of Irish staying there. Its fine for a few nights.
Best of luck, you'll have a ball. :)
