Since the supposed upgrade to 3mb with NTL I have been getting pogo-like speeds. It's making browsing even simple site's a nightmare, let alone trying to download anything.

    Here's my typical stat's:

    Tue, 17 May 2005 19:20:34 GMT
    1st 128K took 531 ms = 246840 Bytes/sec = approx 2054 kbits/sec
    2nd 128K took 9516 ms = 13774 Bytes/sec = approx 115 kbits/sec
    3rd 128K took 406 ms = 322837 Bytes/sec = approx 2686 kbits/sec
    4th 128K took 9547 ms = 13729 Bytes/sec = approx 114 kbits/sec

    Anyone else getting this ??

    BTW, I'm in Walkinstown , D12.

My 3meg was very up and down over the first few days after the upgrade, but it seems pretty much okay now.

Thankfully I don't now feel the need to check my speeds every 5 mins or so when surfing at home.....

I've just been "upgraded" to 3meg on NTL and my connection is up and down at least once an hour(i idle in irc and get disconnected from it regularly). I've power cycled the modem but still no joy. Also, xbox live doesnt want to work anymore.

I have my modem connected to a router which I know NTL say they dont support so I have been reluctant to call them.

It seems others have similar problems - anyone contact ntl for an answer?

I'm going to disconnect my wireless router at the weekend and try it with a direct cable and see what happens. If it's still the same I'll call them and post the results.
