Just buy a standard PC hub. Plug as many xboxs as you want in (game depending) and play away.

You'll need an ethernet cable for each xbox as well. The one you use for system link right now is a special type called a crossover cable and will only work for linking two xboxes (or PCs) directly without a hub. Standard ethernet cables are also called 'patch' leads or straight-thru cables as the wires are in the same order at both ends. you can buy them in most computer stores.

Use a switch, they're faster than hubs.

True, but you'll only notice the difference when a lot of people are playing (ie more than 16 players) (remember xbox network games are designed to be pushed out over a 128kbps broadband connection so the bandwidth required is nothing compared to the potential 100Mbps throughput you get with an ethernet LAN).

Besides all that tho you are correct. A small switch costs about the same and to be honest I dont even know why they sell hubs anymore (does anyone know?)
