I have huge respect for Reggie (he's from my hometown) but i wish he'd retire now. Not only is he past it but if he does intend to play, even provincial level, next season he seriously needs a break. :(

EDIT: PS: have you read the_rockes email to irishrugby (email)?
-> no provincial bias there at all:D :D:D:D

Reggie should really move over but in terms of experience he really is invaluable to the squad of the younger lads goin.Wish they would just experiment a bit more. If the tour turns out to be the next best team after the Lions players have left and the uncapped get a 5min run then i think its a waste of a tour.

If i had my way i stock the bench full of experience and the team of uncapped players - sink or swim;can always bring on the others then..................Ya people will say that will do their confidence no good, but this is professional rugby and they know themselves.

    Nukem

PS: an underage tour would be a great idea U-25. It stops after U-21's right?

I'm surprized Gary Longwell wasn't called up. He could hardly make the Ulster team but got on ahead of O'Connell for Ireland. Bring back Gatland!

ah you shouldn't let common sense confuse you. Don't you know that Grand Slam Eddie knows what is best for the team. Don't worry they'll all go off to the training camp after last year's success and then we'll hopefully beat the rugby powerhouses of Scotland and Italy making it another sucessful season.

We won a Triple Crown don't forget. That major major title. Meanwhile Gatland won 3 Zurich Premierships, a Heineken Cup and a European Challenge Cup, but hey we have a Triple Crown.

Ah but you forget...Gatland had far better players to work with at Wasps. But i do agree with the overall sentiment. :D

He's too old so what would be the point of bringing him.(altho this criteria were ignored for alot of this squads selections  ) We already have a heap of young 2nd rows....

And yet Longwell is going. Also are people serious that Jennings was left out because he's moving to Leicester? That's insane!

who know's why he was left out...madness that casey and jennings failed to make this squad. Casey was in the English Zurich premiership team of the season

really its a shame trevor brennan isnt going, its similar to ireland in the soccer not picking a irish player who plays for inter milian, real shame about jennings as well, its like an old boys reunion there is not aim at development at all

jennings and downey are in the back ups so hopefully they'll get to go

Eddie O'Sullivan, I'm sick of this crap!

Take some risks, I dont care if we don't win by a record number of points. We NEED to be developing young players. In the Southern Hemisphere many players get to play internationals 20 - 22. How many Irish players do we know have been getting international experience at that age?

    Not many!!!

    here here

he seems to think that the pack is a durcell battery and can go on forever,

its only going to be a year at the most before reggie corrian and shane byrne Announce their retirement from international rugby and even though they have come in for a bit of stick this year, all round they have gave great service for their country and i will hope they will go out gracefully (soon!).

malcom O Kelly is hitting that international rugby is starting to take its toll on him. I cant imagine John Hayes has long left ethier

so there is 4/5 of the front five going to be needed to change in the not so distant future.

eddie is going to have to bring some imagination into the forward play or else go.
