Lobe Piercings

To get this piercing, would it involve some sort of lobe extension? Would you be left with a biggish hole or could you just get a normal lobe piercing, and then buy the jewellery shown so there'd be no visible holes?

    Thanks.

It takes a few months to get them a decent size. They need to be tapered up every few months or alternatively you could get a dermal punch but that will leave you with an unrepairable hole or a very noticable scar.

Yikes, doesn't sound too pleasant either way! I reckon I'd go for the first option out of those two. Does anyone have any first-hand experience?

Theres two ways you can go about it :
    1. You start off with a needle that is 1.5mm and pierce the ear. The every month or so you get a tapered bar of metal pushed through your ear and the skin is stretched ,usually by 1mm increments until the desired size is gained.
2.You get punched straight with a 4mm large needle (also called a dermapunch). Takes a small chunk of your ear out but it is straight away to 4mm.You can then stretch up from that.

I got the dermapunch done and i left it out for 2 weeks and it shrunk back really small so i could see it closing up all the way with only a little mark left. I got it re-stretched to 5mm after that though. Dermapunch doesnt real hurt that much its more of a shock then pain. I think ill stop stretching mine at ~10mm

I still think I'd go for the first option, but thanks a million for all the info!

just wondering do you know where you can get cheap tunnels

um..i stretched mine up myself...took about 1month-1 and a half to get them to 8ml...was quite fast..

started off with a 1.6ml bar, then just kept putting in more and more jewlerery, then got a stretcher, one side of them starts off quite thin, the other size is fatter, so you can keep pushing it in as your ear takes to the size thats its already stretched to...then you can put in your tunnell...or a plu whichever you want!!
if you want it to close up later inlife, then it depends what size you stretch it to...some people say anything after 6ml won't close, others say 8ml!!but i've been reading a lot about people with really largely stretched ears that want to close them up, and what they've been doing is causing trauma to the ear, as in cutting the inside where its stretched and it actually closes up slightly, i've seen pics and it actually works...just depends on whether you wan to do it or not!!
    hmm...i'm rambling tonight!!

porn_star: could u link me to those ppl who got the insides cut

HighlyCooL: If u want proper cheap tunnels ebay.com getting me some very nice coconut plugs :D

qz: its best to have ure ears pierced 6 months to one year before you start stretching and leave 6 weeks in between stretches, (its should never bleed when stretching), althought I got mine pierced and stretched to 8 gauage in the one go to start with, then I bought a 6 gauage mushrrom plugs I put these in myself. Right plug went in fine left one wasn't as easy slight bleeding even thou I used olive oil to lube. Not happy but I have these for a couple of months and plan to be at 0 gauage by the end of the summer

Question: this is a question about closing stretched lobes which i couldn't find ... does cutting the inside of the stretching help the hole to close up more? i've had a friend who ws at 3/4", and he took a razor and made little cuts on the inside of the stretching, and his lobes closed up completely...
does the cutting really help, or was his body just naturally good at healing?

answer: i've heard of a few cases where large lobes closed up extraordinarily because of some type of trauma, none of those cases were intentionally done though. but I have had expierence where lobes have closed up extrordinarily well due to some sort of trauma.

hm....this is all i could find at the moment, i've read a lot more about it and seen pictures...i'll have to look tomorrow for you, cos i must go now!

No you dont. You can jump straight to a 4mm if you want as the ear lobe is very stretchable, especially straight after its been pierced
althought I got mine pierced and stretched to 8 gauage in the one go to start with
Im not surprised you're not happy, You should never go over 4mm in one sitting as you've more than likely ripped a whole load of tissue in your ear and done irrepairable damage

8 gauge* = 3.2mm, I wouldnt go past 1mm in a single stretch, after the initial piercing has healed.

leaving 6 months insures the scar tissue has built up enough to stretch without any sort of bleeding or discomfort, this was recommend by a piercer named spike on the forums at http://www.bodyjewelleryshop.co.uk/
or the direct link to his own website with a guide on stretching

    nps

1 thing to note thou is when u get ure lobes stretched that they will need constant cleaning and they will smell, especially I find if ure tunnels or plugs are made of metal. One way around this is after they have healed is to use wooden plugs I find these create zero smell and need very little cleaning compared with the metal.

Hf with the stretches if u go for it
