    Hi y'all,

When i type in ipconfig at the command prompt on this windows xp machine, nothing shows up underneath at all. It just goes back to the command prompt after a 1 line space. Ping to 127.0.0.1 works. I have even set the ip address as a static address and is connected via crossover to another computer with a different static address in the same subnet.
You think this is a corrupt tcp/ip stack and is need of a reinstall?

    Thanks.

Probably not, I think you'd still get your adaptor and configuration info. Is the connection definitly enabled in the networking control panel applet ? Similarly is the adaptor enabled in device manager ?

I know you got it working but just incase you dont know, although you may very well know....
to reset tcp/ip stack in xp goto a command prompt and type below

    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

clears up most tcp/ip issues... resets all connection details though so beware :)
