There is a Movie Pub Quiz, being held to raise money for a short film, on at the Met bar on eden quay, Wednesday 18th of May at 8.30pm. There will be a good range of questions with nothing two alienating (i know cause i wrote them). It will be 20 quid for a table of four or five people and there's prizes of dvds, cinema and book vouchers and boose.

Count me interested. Can you let us know how the categories of questions you'll be asking? What will be the bias on modern films/blockbusters/films that everybody already knows? Will you be digging into old films/foreign films/obscure films?

While on the topic, anyone know if there is a regular movie pub quiz that happens in Dublin?

    Sounds good.

Anyone want to form a Boards.ie film board team?

although we can't all pick contemporary asian horror films as our specialist subject...

Thanks for the interest...to answer your question the questions range from pretty easy to quite hard. I hate an easy quiz myself because the really knowledgable people rarely win. There will plenty of opportunities for the serious film buff to distinguish him/herself. At the moment i have two picture rounds, a guess-the-soundtrack round, horror, sci-fi, quotes, taglines, and oscar winners as categories.

we'll hopefully get it wound up before last bus time...around half ten or 11 I guess. Film is a short piece about two strangers getting off a bus on a deserted country road...going for an surreal-atmospheric Picnic and Hanging Rock meets Beckett/Kafka vibe....sorry but it's impossible not to sound like a pretentious knob end when talking about making films. Hope to see you there.

Sorry, can't make it after all. Maybe next time.

My previous question still stands....anyone know of a regularish movie pub quiz in Dublin?

I'll be there anyway. And I'll bring my monkey!

Booo! Six actors played Darth Vader...

    Am I pedantic?

i was correcting and i actually marked you correct for that one....didn't trust my own knowledge. With sci-fi there's always someone who knows more.

    Ha. Good stuff.

Best of luck with the film.

If you ever need access to some digital editing equipment let me know.
