Short Break in Europe

My friend and I hope to travel to Europe for a short break this summer, but we're on a tight budget. We're not fussy about where we go and we're not particularly restricted by dates.

We're looking for somewhere that is safe for 2 hot blonde chicks and also somewhere with plenty of sights and things to do both during the day and at night.

We're hoping to travel within the Eurozone as we're too lazy to change our currencey.

I'll probably have more questions later, but sin é for now.

    Thanks in advance!

    A.M

would love to go to prague and budapest myself, but flights can be expensive.

How about pamplona for the bull run? im sure you could probably get around spain pretty cheaply, fancy that myself.

or berlin for the love parade?

    italy for the food...

or berlin for the love parade?
Is that also known as/celebrated on same day as "Gay Pride Parade"??
Just happened to be doing a walking tour of Berlin late June last year and that was on... it was...er.... "interesting" - 6ft+ lads in black leather female swimsuits...

@Amz - how long you going for? Staying in one place or open to going to more than one place?

Budapest was beautiful when I was there in July '03. The caslte, caves, market etc up on Buda hill are well worth a wander round.
So much so that im going back there on my travels this summer.

I think the Bull Runs are on everyones mind after Hector doin that prog for TG4.
Its on my list anyway :)

brussels is a lovely city and there's always cheap flights on ryanair. then again, cheap flights to anywhere on ryanair and then a nice hostel and you're sorted really.
    i would recommend brussels though.

Nope - Love parade is always first weekend in July as far as I remember, except this year as it's cancelled due to lack of funding or something or other...

Berlin is still a great city though - lots to do, good night clubs(www.tresorberlin.de), in the euro zone and if you don't mind a flight transfer and obscure flight times you should be able to get there for peanuts.

They also have a hempf parade which I stumbled upon one late August weekend ;)

Sorry for not getting back sooner, exams etc.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

We're actually hoping to avoid Eastern Europe as we feel it might be a little risky to go on our own without any male companions etc. Maybe next time, it's definitely on our list of places to go to at some stage!

We're strongly considering Barcelona at the moment.

Has anyone any experiences, good, or bad, of Barcelona?

Hi, I was in Barcelona two weeks ago for a few days. It is a beautiful city. It has everything - great food, incredible nightlife, plenty of sights and lots of culture. We left the city feeling we hadn't seen half of it. Make sure and go down to Port Olimpica - it comes alive after sunset.

A word of warning, though, the Ramblas can be a little dodgey at night. Keep your wits about you and you will be fine.

    Cool, that's great thanks!

Yeah, I was also in Barcelona within the last few weeks. Fully intend to go back, the weather was fantastic, lots of things I didn't see yet, lots of beaches and things to do day and night.

As far as I remember there's already one or two barcelona threads on this forum so if you do a dig about there's plenty more info there ;)

it would be a shame to miss out on eastern europe, Riga in Latvia is an example, fantastic city and great fun, nothing dangerous about it once you stay away from the obvious.

Barca is fantastic best city break in europe at the moment.

Oh we're not discounting Eastern Europe at all, it's just that we'd prefer to go in a bigger group. It's definitely somwhere we'd like to go in the future.

Most of the women in Prague are sexy blondes, so you will nothing special to them.

Prague is the safest place i have been to, never did i feel in danger and ive been to paris, london, rome, budapest etc.

A fantastic city that is real cheap and as someone said earlier you can get flights for about 120euro return with czech airlines.
