    Hi

I have a sky system (grundig box)but have not been subscribed for about 6 months. The system is dismantled although the dish is still on the wall). I still have the card (blue with a yellow house on it). Will this allow me to see more free channels than the basic FTA.
    If so what channels?

    Cheers

Unless its a FTV card, ordered from england, then it won't get you any more FTV channels. If its an Irish card, that was de-activated, then in fact, you're better off putting the card into the digibox upside down and loading the default EPG - this will give you ITV 3 on the EPG, aswell as BBC Three / BBC Four / CBBC / CBeebies / BBC News 24 / BBC Parliament plus all BBC Radio services.

    Thanks for the info.
Presumably the card doesn't have to be a sky one if it's going inupside down?
    Will a credit card work?

Were all the old blue (no house) FTA cards deactivated ? I have one that used to show ITV Channel 4, and five but now it's just the Beebs and general FTAs that are available.

Is Ebay the best route these days for an FTV ? About how mush do they cost?

The credit card doesn't seem to have made any difference. I turn off the box put in the card waited for about a minute. When I turn it on after about 30 secs or so I get a message saying that there is something wrong with my skycard.
I get the same epg as with no card (ie no BBC3 etc on the epg (I still get them through services etc).
Is there a specific way to go about this using a differnet card to get the default epg?

    Cheers

I think this trick was solved by Sky, after a digibox software update. It doesnt work anymore.

Thanks for clearing that up. Is it fair to say that there is no advantage or point to having a sky card once your sub is up?
