Internet Speed Problems with Tiger

Did a clean install of Tiger yesterday (Imac g4 with Airport (not extreme card)
I use a linksys wag54g router for my wireless connection - before yesterday never had a problem with the Imac getting theh same speed as the pc which is beside it. Now the Imac is getting half the speed that the pc is getting.
Only conclusion is that Tiger in some way affects the performance of Airport anyone else getting this?

(Just as a by the way Office update does not appear to work with Tiger either)

I did an upgrade, and it hasn't affected my speed. But I have a problem that's allied - after visiting Out Foreign recently, where the person I was visiting reset my AirPort connection to use his wireless connection to his phone broadband, when i came home, AirPort logs off IBB if my machine is idle for a few minutes - kind of annoying.

    G4 PowerBook, running Tiger.

I've looked at the prefs, and can't see anything that seems to tell it to log off. Any thoughts gratefully received.

My only suggestion for you, Dub, is to write down your settings and then nuke your connection and reinstall it.

Internet speed is grand here over Airport on Tiger - but Samba shares over Airport are dead slow - have to plug into the network anytime i need to transfer stuff to/from the Windows machnies at the mo...

No probs here either, using a number of devices including Airport with a D-Link access point. I don't see how you could configure it incorrectly either though, maybe just for the heck of it delete and re-do your network settings?

How is it slow exactly, download speeds slower, or surfing the net?
