Yea was at it. Not a great match, not a great atmosphere. Still was pleased with the win. O'Gara had a good match but was sometimes a bit slow to chase up kicks. Not just O'Gara, the whole team.

A lot of handling errors. Stringer's passing disappointing.

Personally I thought Mike Mullins deserved Man of the Match. He played very well. Certaintly on the back of a good performance of the previous week.

Sad to see Alan Gaffney go. Would liked to see all the players leaving e.g Seamus do the lap of honour also even if they didn't play. We didn't get to show our appreciation

only saw highlights on bbc last night but there were ****all people at it by the looks of it....where the hell were all the so called best fans in Ireland?

kickoff 5.30 on a sunday is a pain for Munster fans but no such excuses for a sat kickoff...?

Paul Devlin impressed - well going forward anyways. He had a few good runs and a picked the ball off his boot laces at full tilt. Backs really showed up i thought. Mullins was on fire.Horan was as per usual the best prop in Ireland until he was forced off. If Eddy doesnt pick him next season i swear i will boycott the 6nations.

Have to say that Leamy came on and brought some blistering pace to the pack,Wallace pushed to the wing with Devlin coming off was a bit weird but Wallace looked at home in the backs running some good lines.Options for the future?

Also did i hear right that Mick O D was coming back from France to Munster? Stringer looked outta his depth, rushing passes and getting it all wrong a good few times. ROG honestly looked like he was playing for fun the way he stpeed that try.Good sign for the Lions.

Pity Jim Williams wasnt playing and i didnt see him on the pitch at all either? So long Gaffney - Welcome home Declan.

I was at it and as Peter B said there was no atmosphere at all, match wise it was ok, the first half was a lot better than the second, both teams played poorly overall i thought.

    From http://breakingnews.iol.ie/sport/story.asp?j=142876750&p=y4z877456&t=rugby
Connacht’s John O’Sullivan is set to move south to join Munster in the coming weeks as he bids to move up the ladder to international recognition. "I have had three great years with Connacht, but I feel I now need a new challenge. I have had discussions with Munster and am hopeful that we will be able to finalise something shortly," he said.

Meanwhile Munster old boy Mick O’Driscoll has all but signed up to Declan Kidney’s regime after two years playing for French club Perpignan. He has completed discussions and a rigorous medical examination.

Thought Stringer wasn't playing up to standard at all; havn't been impressed by him much this year. Play wasn't that exciting; sloppy play and loose tackling. Leamy was good when he came on alright...And I guess some silverware finally made it to Ireland after this season! Williams seemed to disappear after the pre-match warmup. Also pity Gaffney has to go (even only to keep Kidney with Leinster!) :D

There was around 25,000->30,000 at it which isn't that bad at all. That's 5 times what the core Munster support is. The ones who go to Celtic League games etc. I couldn't care to be honest what the attendence was, everyone who wanted to go got to go and if the attendence was smaller than when all the corporates want to go then so be it. Doesn't make a bit of a difference in my book.

Also there's a Limerick All Ireland game on today so that would have affected things also.

paper said 10,000...not that i'd trust the Sindo much, but tbh it didn't look like a 25000 crowd to me

Did anyone watch this and highlights of the Zurich final or watch Zurich final and see highlights of this?

Was it just me or did Wasp and Leicester seem 10 times better than Munster and Llanelli.

I noticed that alright....the intesity in the english game was much higher. mind you, the ref was terrible in that zurich final....neil back should have been shown a straight red for punching worsley...bloody inconsistency between refs is a joke

On the attendance: no way in hell there were 25K there. The stewards were told before the game that the East Upper, East Lower and West Lower were all to be full, giving a forecasted attendance of 22.5K. The stands didn't fill up to half capacity.

On the other hand, the atmosphere in the West Lower was superb, I thought it was great.

If you can handle video being 90 degrees off, and in some weird mpeg 4 format, then this download (3MB) shows the players just after the final whistle. Can hear the Fields in the background.

With regards to the attendance, I thought there was a good few there. The atmosphere wasn't great. I was on the east upper and there were a good few....the east lower stand seemed to be nearly full! The west stand was fairly empty though!!

I was thinking during the match...wouldn't it be cool if they put on a bit of music whenever someone scores a try...maybe 30 seconds of a song like "eye of the tiger" or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,086 ✭✭✭Peter B

I was standing on the East terrace. Luckily I had sun glasses but still it was not easy to get big into the game with the sun beaming into our faces.

Would have prefered the West stand, but wasn't gonna fork out for seats.

The presenter on the microphone was terrible! He should have been at a funeral instead of a rugby match.

Also I couldn't hear the speakers very well. Maybe it was just from where I was standing but the after match music was terrible.

Would have liked to have had a few pints before hand though. Maybe 3 free pints free with entry would have helped the atmosphere. :D
