Pocket Vaio

I recently bought a Pocket Vaio, and as i predicted, it cant just come out the box, get hooked in and work.... i have to, quote from sonicstage "Updating sonicstage database. Please restart after the updating has updating has finished" Then it clicks by and does nothing. i have installed a 30mb update to 2.3 sonicstage and some other random and probably useless software. Nothing has changed. Has anyone with a pocket vaio had this problem, does anyone know how to solve it or have any links to a page where i can get it to run? When i click on another piece of software i got with the player, called "Vaio Music Transfer" it says that my device is not connected even though is it. When i try to set up the device its self i cant get past the laguage screen because it keeps flickering from "Do not touch the g pad" to "it is now ok to touch the g pad" ... Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Did you do the firmware update for the Pocket?
When you do the software updates you will need to also do the firmware update for the Pocket itself in order for the updated software to recognise the device
As regards the Pocket flickering between screens, you could try doing a reset and see if that resolves the problem

Yea i got the firmware update and a music trasnfer utilty update. I have tryed to reset it but not luck ! same thing happens. It gives me a second on the "do not touch g pad" and then a sign that its ok, but i cant actually seletect a language. I bring the cursor up but i can select for some reason. Maybe i am touching it wrong or something

It is as if it wont detect the device on my comp!

Just recalling this from memory so I may not have it exactly right:

In Sonicstage, select Transfer mode (from the three buttons at the top)
Then go to the Control menu and select External ->Initialise

I may not have the menu options exactly right but look through the menu until you see an initialise option and select it

    unplug.

get a paperclip and do a reset...this time, ensure to press and avoid pressing as the callibration process suggests. (Complete the setup)

then, plug it back into the computer -> does it say Data Transfer Mode?

check if it is detected, at least, as an mass storage device..
if it is - open SonicStage and play away... or do as Auburn said if it's not detected first off (You lose any data during the 'Initialization' ..)
