    hi

Have a 3hr film that will not fit onto your standard 4.7gb dvd-r

Seen larger capacity dvd-r's on www.marx-computers.com

Anyone have any problems when burning large files as dont want to shell out for dvd for it to be a coaster

DVD-Shrink will solve your problem. ;)

Are the Larger DVD's Dual Layered? If so you will need a compatible burner.
Alternativly you could just use a program like Nero Recode to recode the film to a size that will fit on a standard 4.7Gb DVD.

    Check out http://www.dvdshrink.org/
Its a fairly good program that allows you to rip out any extras that are in a film such as subtitles and other languages. You can compress the film to fit onto a standard 4.7GB blank DVD-R or DVD-RW. You don't really notice a reduction in quality unless the compression goes below 50%. If you have Nero as well it gives you the option of burning straight to DVD after compression, handy feature. hope this helps.

    Hi

    824,971kb
    824,863kb
    824,673kb

Along with 3 small .cue files

Using Nero Vision express to burn

The larger capacity DVDs are Dual Layer discs.

You'll need a Dual Layer DVD writer to burn on them. I got one last week for under €60 from Komplett.ie

If it's a film, then use one of the many applications out there to compress it down to fit on a 4.7 gig disc as has been sugested, I've only ever done this on Macs, so I'm not too familiar with what windows software is out there. Most film are usually only about 6 gigs anyway. You really won't lose much quality.

Use Nero Express to make the 3 files into 1 big DVD file the use Nero Recode to recode it to the required size (4.7Gb).

Three of those are under 3 gig. Will fit on the disc as they are!

are you sure they are not vcds? if 3 different cue files and 3 different bins, would it not suggest that they are 3 different parts that could be put onto 3 different disks. If there are cue files use them to burn it, i.e. don't just copying them onto the disk etc

if they're .cue vcds. i recommend getting vcdgear and getting mpgs out of them, and lumping them all together and then throw them onto a dvd

It aint no III but close :D think Where Disney is in Florida and Ridley Scott

Did not load up the .cue files and it seems to have worked just about to burn it

so lets hope I get no coasters

You arent meant to burn those to a dvd. They're all CD images. Open them up in nero and burn them to a CD each.

Indeed they are VCD's/Svcd's. As padriag said burn with NERO. Extracting them as Mpegs and reencoding to Mpeg4 is a pain in the arse. Don't even bother as it's not worth the hastle.
