Just wondering if there are many of us around Athlone.
Was thinking bout maybe setting up some kinda Athlone Unix Users Group or the like.
Maybe have it part of MiLUG only just for athlone (MiLUG seems to be very longford based ;) )

    Anyway just a thought

They have electricity in Athlone? O.o

    I kid :p

Not sure if they post here, but I know a few people there who tinker around with Suse, at the least.

Oh no, someone showed you this place exists. :p

If you haven't done so already, might be worth posting on RB's boards also. Just a thought. Possibly DMZ also.

Good luck and get back to study...procrastinator! :D (I know you've been called worse...)

There are actually loads of UNIX lovers around athlone, and most
of them are working for a multinational telecoms company. Unfortunately
they can't access here from work (it was blocked by the company
firewall when I worked there). From what I hear, some of them
are even migrating from Solaris to Suse.

There are also other companies around athlone that use UNIX and
specifically Linux. Whether there'd be enough people to form a UUG
    though I'd have my doubts.

It's OK to love Unix, it's not OK to loooove Unix.

Besides, it really smegs up the USB ports.

We'll if there isnt enough I'd try and encourage more MiLUG meetings in Athlone

Jaden: leave those usb ports alone....

    Hi Kyper,

I'm from Athlone, was just on holidays for the last week so didnt see your post until now. Yeah thats not a bad idea about an Athlone Unix users group, was always meant to go to a MiLug meeting but was just too damned lazy to drive to Longford!

    Hey vigos,

I'll post about a milug meeting in Athlone on http://midlands.linux.ie/portal soon. Maybe we can get a few people from Athlone together then. Also if you know of an others who might be interested would you let them know

    cheers,

    Mark

    Hi guys,

I'm based in Craughwell, and work in Athlone. I'm waiting on the new Ubuntu 5.04 linux cds to arrive by post (I ordered 10 of them if some of you are interested). I'm also a big fan of Slackware.
