    Hey,

What are the latest fashion trends (For girls)? I'm going for a job in a funky store and wanna impress at my interview.(it's part of getting the job). I've been away for 6 months so don't really know whats in and all that ****e.

Are the gypsy skirts still in or what. I've seen alot of the chunky jewellery about so I'm guessing thats all in.

Amazing what people will do to get a job...

    Thanks!!

Tourquise is totally in at the moment, as is alot of army-type jackets, but as far as I can tell it's back to Gypsy-style more than anything all over the place, all long-ish skirts with big patterns, lots of patterns out now actually at the moment! - ooh, and scarfs too, there's lots of them aswell..

Good luck in the interview, let us know how you get on!

my advice? wear a long plain black floaty skirt, one that doesn't look tacky with a sequined elascticated belt (afaik benetton has loads) and a plain black top. with sparkly flats.

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of that. Bennetton, okay I'll check it out. There's a lot of nasty clothes out at the moment so I dunno what's in or whether its the bargain rails! lol

Plastic charity arm bands; wear a few hundred of those and you will be with the in-crowd.

I know you're being sarcastic but honestly what is the deal with them. I first saw them in America where they were first launched by Lance Armstrong for Cancer. They weren't a big 'Ooh I gotta have one of them' trends. People seemed just to be buying them to make a donations for charity. Here its like 'Oh, if you don't have the yellow one, wellI'm just not talking to you'. I see kids asking there parents to buy the bands for them adn sure the kids don't even know what they are for. Just another in thing to have. And then all the scum/knacker traders selling other ones that don't even mean anything, don't support a charity.

Ok, finished my little rant... :)

That "floaty gypsy" stuff seems to be the mainstay of boring English high street stores so maybe it's not the best thing to mention if this shop is a "funky" one. Look at fashion sites online for a more international view.

Thanks for that Simu. Another thing is then trying to find decent shops. Hate the way there's 10 million girls wearing the same bleedin top!! :o

I gotta wonder why you're asking what the latest fashion trends are, when you hate the way everyone wears the same thing... o.O

Try B-Young Fashions, trendy but not tacky and extremely well priced. They've a few locations around Ireland.

Wanted to know the latest fashion trend so I don't go completely off the mark. Yes I hate when everyone wheres the same clothes. I take what people are wearing and change it. Either customise it and/or accessorise it. Do my hair funky and put on nice make-up. No fake orange tan, no nasty arcylic nails, hoopy earrings or plastered on make-up..

Something with a hint of the nautical...a white blazer, underneath a red top and a pair of jeans?! Ditch the gypsy look....it bites.

How can you tell if she has or not?

    Nasty looking outfit tbh.

Personally, I think the coolest clothes come from Japan and Korea - could take a look at what people are wearing there.

The 70ies look will be the trend of the summer!
    Be ready, girls!

One thing for sure: body tatoos and piercings and wristbands are totally out!
This summer, we want naturality and and only a little make- up and long hair with the natural colour!
Don't forget leather belts, big crosses, white skirts and huge earrings.

Go to topshop, river island and miss selfridge, have a look around...particularly in topshop, see what the staff are wearing...also go to the place you're going to be interviewed (covert operation) and check out what they are wearing/clientel is wearing....

From what I'v noticed, flat sequin shoes seem to be in(they come in many different colours and the best place to get them is at the asian stall in georges st arcade-they are SOOOO pretty), paired with a lil flowy peasant skirt, sleeveless t-shirt, big beaded necklace, and suit jacket.

If your clever enough you can get some pretty decent looking stuff in penneys and h&m, for relatively little and still look ubar stylish-most notably, penneys are great lately for accessories, i got loads of lil bracelets and necklaces there, also try the oxfam shop at the top of grafton st, they've some unusual "fair trade" jewellery there.

    Good luck with the interview!!

please don't shot me......................... i would say a black 50's style skirt, black sparkly flats, a plain t-shirt in whatever colours in right now, a black blazer if its cold, perhaps some of those footless tights from Ad-hoc................ i wouldn't go too gypsy, its kinda on the way out, and much too main stream for a funky shop

a marigold glove on your left hand.

don't make the embarassing mistake of wearing it on your right hand though :o
(or heaven forbid, wear both gloves  )

and flares are coming back in a big way

It does seem that the gypsy look is in...the way that I look at it is that I get high quality clothes that will last the time (LBD etc) and complement it with a few cheap items that will go out of fashion within the year.

Personally I love the gypsy look - have been looking for clothes like these for years so am stocking some of the more classic items up. It also seems that dresses in general are more in fashion - there a lot of really feminine dresses around at the moment, though it is very hard to get a nice dress that does not show lots of cleavage.
