Its an SiS, its probably ENTIRELY shared memory....

The days when wheter you can play a game on a machine or not was dependent on the vram are long since gone. My 32MB Radeon M9 is significantly faster than my 64MB Radeon 7000, my 48MB-of-shared Intel 830, etc

Considering its not a particularly powerful chipset, you won't get much gaming out of it. Give up all hope of playing anything modern, for instance.

Try 1-yr old to 2-yr old games, e.g. GTA VC & CoD should run OK (-ish).

    GTA:VC runs OK-ish on my 32MB nVidia TNT2 M64. Which is 7 years old....

Yeah, he'll be able to run that anyway

Yeah, but his lappie-gfx chip uses shared RAM, not dedicated like yours -
    (i) Big difference between desktop & lappie AND
(ii) Big difference between shared & dedicated gfx RAM AND
(iii) not forgetting the fact that it'll be taken out of 224 RAM to begin with (if he's running XP, that ain't gonna leave that much)
    ;)

1998 era graphics card RAM and 2004 era laptop DDR RAM are pretty similar in speed, and the lack of fastwrites on the TNT2, despite being AGP, mean that a modern AGP card can suck data from system RAM faster than it could

However, he will need more system RAM if he wants it to be a comfortable experience.

Here's me once more Hi-jacking a thread , but I was wondering if you actually bought this ?

And if so , did you manage to find the drivers for it anywhere ?

I'm just off the phone with a cousin who wants to drop me over his MID2020 because he is having problems and the only reference to it I could find online was in languages not spoken by me :0
