I normal get my eyebrows waxed but the last time i got them done the girl waxed and plucked them.

They were red afterwards and my left eyebrow at the edge was a bit sore but i thought nothing of it. The reddness didnt go away and after 2 weeks i decided to go to the doctor.

So i went to the doctor and it turns out that my eyebrow (well the skin there) is infected and he said it was probably caused by a dirty tweezers!

I never knew your eyebrows (skin around them )could get infected from getting your eyebrows plucked...

For now anyway I'm on anti biotics and Im stuck with this horrible red lump on my eyebrow..

are you sure its not just an infection caused by an ingrown hair or something? dirty tweezers sounds a bit far fetched imo, the tweezers dont go into your skin in any way, and there's no cutting or tearing of it... unless she was just really clumsy?

I think it is possible to get an infection from tweezers. Never use anyone elses tweezers, even your mates! Even though the tweezers don't go into your skin, your skin has been pulled and the hair shaft is open so suceptable to infection.

I won't advise you going back to that beautican. Health & Safety and Hygiene are so important in the beauty industry. Other tips so not to get infections

Don't share your lipstick/lipgloss with your mates. Coldsores
Don't share your mascara with your mates. Conjunctivitis and Styes
Wash your make-up brushes regularly in warm soapy water.

Trying to think of more but don't wanna scare ya!

Yeah defo, if everything had be sterile she could have argues that it wasn't her fault because everything was hygienic, Obviously not, Errgh.

when i went around to her first she said that if i had to go the doc she'd pay for everything and that she'd sort me out with some freebies..

when i went back after the doc she gave me the money but never mentioned anything about freebies.. dont no if i would have even taken them tho cos i dont think i'l go back but she did say wen i went around first that i could have some..

Freebies, like what? Skincare and the like? Yeah, put a big guilt trip on her saying you can't out coz of the red spot/mark. :( But suggest that some nice skincare/spa products would help. Ya know, so ya can pamper yourself... ;)

That's just nasty if you got an infection like that. Was she wearing gloves? If not it could have been dirty hands. Errggh. Ya seriously gotta be careful going some of these places. Dodgy McDodge!

Milk it for all its worth. It'll make her think twice about the hygiene in her salon. :)

Umm, it sounds very unlikely that this infection was caused by a tweesers. It sounds more like an ingrown hair that was mentioned earlier. If it is being caused by an ingrown hair then antibiotics will do nothing for it. If the antibiotics don't help then I'd suggest going to a different doctor.

I have never, ever, had an infection and have been plucking my own eyebrows for near 6/7yrs. I am not in any way overly hygenic with my tweesers.
