Exam results

    I'm going to find out my exam results today, I'm really scared. I've been studying 6 years for this, and I just really want to get through now, especially since I really did work hard for these exams (even though I kinda dossed off during the year). The exams had loads of bits to them and I did okay in some bits and not okay in others so it's really hard for me to tell with certainity if I got through or not, it's all a matter of if I did well enough in the good bits to make up for the bad ones.

    What will I do if I fail? I'm such a bundle of nerves atm, couldn't sleep all last night, my stomach hurts, my head hurts, my eyes are burning. If I fail it means that at the earliest I graduate in November, 6 months behind my class. It will also have a negative impact on my career because it will show in my transcript. Also I don't think I have it in me to study for these again right now.

    I've never been religious and yet I find myself seeking comfort in something I never believed in, I guess perhaps that's just my cowardice?

    god.. I hope I pass :(

    Firstly best of luck man.

    Oh and by the way, Colleges and universities do their absolute upmost to let you pass, so unless you made an absolute cack of the exams, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Enjoy the day, it's the time you will reap the rewards of all your work...

    also remember that whatever happens, there's always tomorrow:

    Kipling was onto something here:

    If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
    If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;

    have a good one man,

    all the best,
    Martin

    Martin, i think all that time in NCBES may be making you gay!

    @OP: Everyone worries about the final results,
    It really isn't the end of the world if you don't get it first time round.

    Graduating later than your class will have no effect on your career. Colleges would like to make you think otherwise but in reality employers care less about your qualifications than they do about your ability to do a job for them. So relax dude, either which way it's not as big a deal as you think.

    Good luck btw.

    maybe because it was a medical degree.

    The reason that junior doctors make decent money is not so much so that their salary is so high but because of the insane hours they have to do which results in a lot of over time pay. That's why a lot of doctor's were opposed to the EU working time directive, though personally I support it because without it junior doctors especially have no protection against being exploited by hospital administrations.

    But on a wage/hour basis junior doctors don't really make that much afaik, at least my fiance doesn't. But I guess i'll only really find that out once I start earning in a couple of months time :P
