Things you can do in your dreams that you can't do IRL.

So last night I was dreaming I was standing infront of a huge audience with my guitar, think I must have been opening for someone... anyway, I started clumsily strumming some off-key crap... then something comes over me and I switch to a different pickup and start lashing out my faverite Pixies track and playing it like a God... fcuking loving it aswell.
I have an electric guitar IRL, but I can't play it yet at least nowhere near like that... it seemed so easy in this dream!

So the question is... what amazing skills do you have when asleep that you don't have when awake?

I developed a super-developed musical talent too. Well two actually - playing the violin at a phenomenally better standard than Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and composition for a whole orchestra. I can't play the violin at all IRL.

Usually i just time travel and zoom from one scene to another

very very rare i see a dream and when i see i am upset usually

everyone dreams every night but because of the workings of the sub-concious you dont always remeber them or only remember bit of them. And it may interest you boys that men have on average 7 erections a night whilst sleeping some of which will be from sub-concious masturbating!

There's nothing subconscious about it!

had a weird dream last night in which the "bad guys" (some bizarre alien life form disguised as humans) had the power to start an ice age, but were thwarted somehow at the end, and then someone killed themselves by jumping THROUGH a skyscraper from the roof, leaving person shaped holes in the wooden floorboards on all the floors on the way down.

it struck me as odd, because the floorboards were of the creaky type you see in really old houses, not skyscrapers.

Anyway, i often in dreams have the ability to change species from scene to scene in a dream without the species change having any relevance to the "plot" (for want of a better word) of the dream.

Oh look, im a lion for a few mins.

Last night I dreamt that I was walking down Talbot Street when I got an impulse to look behind me. When I looked over my shoulder I saw a giant ghostly hand sweeping down the street killing everyone in it's path... the rest is a blur.

I'd much rather dream about monkeys.... monkeys are funny...

i remember last night i just slept and didnt dream at all
i dont remember at all that i had a dream it happens very very rare to me

about the erections thing i dont know where did u read it

i dont know never noticed that some time in morning the erection thing happens but thats normal

I've had a few re-occuring dreams over the years .. the one that sticks out is :

I'm a marine ( Go figure) and they good auld boys at R&D have come up with a way to disguse me as a Alien ( as in Alens , Alen , Alein 3 , and all that Jazz). I'm to Get iside the Hive and find out what they are planning. I get in , no probs, they accept me for what i am. Now this is where it gets plain weird . They have thier own sport ( sort of like frizbe but more tackleling) and they love listening to Pulp ( I remember the songs so vivedly and no the radio wasn't on). As i get more and more into it , the more i figure i am an alien , so we end up going on a raid .. I can jump like an Alien got all the physical attribuets of one ( really really kwel that) so anyway we are running around. Kililng stuff and doing things, when we encounter my old marine unit. Now i get into a good auld ding dong with them. It ends up with me standing in front of my CO , we are alone so i start to debreif him, however a few aliens are inc, he tells me i must keep my cover, and with that as my new buddies come around the corner i take my CO's head clean off his sholders ( Lots and lots of blood :eek: ).

I basicaly become a sort of leader of my raiding party , and I start teaching them how to use vechiles , machinery , the joys of opening doors not bashing them in, and finaly how to pilot a space craft ...

Then i see a bright light and i wake up ( I keep thinking about a particual line from Alens ,, n00k them from orbit , only way to be sure).. must of had this dream about 15 -20 times , but haven't had it in a few years now.

I've mastered Lucid Dreaming as well , where i can control what happens in my dream , but i usualy just let it flow , take me where it wants , but if i see something i want to do ( or someone ) i'll do that instead .

The recurring dream that I have every now and again involves realising that its a few days / weeks before the Leaving Cert and I'm totally unprepared. Did it back in 98 so it must have had a powerful affect on me. Around that time I remember a doctor at a careers guidance fair telling me that he had dreams / nightmares about not getting enough points to do medicine. Great sense of relief to wake up and not have too much to worry about.

Ever get that dream where you are a kid again and its Xmas morning? You are so excited about opening presents, and then wake up :mad:

oddly enough i never feel fear in dreams anymore, even if there is some nasty stuff going on or im about to die i never rise above vague irritation or a slight feeling of indifferent discomfort. i feel like a detatched observer in my dreams.
probably comes from having reccuring nightmares as a kid.
the good thing is i sometimes get to speak to people i havent seen in a long time in my dreams , i can never remember what we talked about when i wake up though.

I have this one two. It rocks. Sometimes its werid cos im wearing no clothes or not trousers at least. Just had it last nite, or the nite b4. Mad.

I also saw a heard of elephants walking down Grafton St. and then I appeared to be in a high school hallway with lockers on each side from which a bunch of aliens (the ones with the HUGE heads) emerged and started poking me. Then Opera Winfrey took me to dinner. She a mate, apparently.
