Men of boards - what sort of cosmetics do you use?

I'm curious about this because I've noticed an increasing number of ads for male cosmetics.

So, what do the men of boards use?

What do you wash your face with?

What sort of scents/things that smell nice do you wear?

What sort of facial lotions and balms do you use?

Do you use anything to protect your skin from the elements?

Do you ever wear make-up and if so, what kind?

    Anything else of interest?

Oh and for anyone about to do a rant about how they're not superficial and don't care about how they look - hold it in, this isn't the place for it!

Washing Face : Soap and hot water.

In the Shower : Radox shampoo and shower gel in one. Generally I use what ever is there.

My Fragerance : Ralph Lauren Blue stick and spray.

Shaving : Gilette Mach 3 and some Gilette shaving gel.

Hair Gel : Brylcream Easy Wash or if I'm feeling fancy this Bed Head Coconut Wax stuff, smells soooooo good.

That is all I really use. My girlfriend did buy me E45 cream to moisturise with but it doesn't get much use. I'm too busy and/or lazy to take the time to apply it and I don't like my face feeling that smooth.

    Water? Not brilliant, but cheap.
    simu wrote:

Issey Miyake or Eternity usually, or Hugo. Deodorant is usually Right Guard.
    simu wrote:

General moisturiser [currently Adidas]. Shave only with KoS gels [the oils are too fiddly].
    simu wrote:

Use a KoS SPF moisturiser during the Summer.
    simu wrote:

Don't know if it's "make up" per se but I occasionally bother with some of the XCD stuff.

Nivea cream for my face and sometimes a face mask, the simple mudmask is nice but sometimes those grainy ones or the citrus acidy ones are nice.

Speaking of the Mach 3, ever notice they sell heads with an "Aloe Vera, Vitamin E enriched blah blah blah" strip on them? Completely pointless if you're already using gel/lather/etc (which is a given), but they cost more than regular heads!

La Roche-Posay do good cosmetics too, as they go by skin type.

I've feck all really, but I suppose this is it:
Palmolive/Gilette shaving foam/cream for sensitive skin
Head & Shoulders or Fructis or whatever for the hair + a finetooth comb to keep the hair clean and shiney
I've a bottle of Nivea skincare shaving balm to slap on after shaving, have had it for about 2 years, thing seems to last forever, though it'll be due a replacement soonish
Brylcreem red tub for the hair (I don't like my hair greasy or stiff, but if I don't put a dab in after washing, it turns to tumbleweed when the wind hits it)
I've a bottle of some sort of Boss fragrance stuff I got for christmas, squirt a little on now and again.

This stuff is all rather laisez-faire, I'll use it if I can be arsed.

I've got psoriasis on my hands, and it gets really bad around exam time (generally high-stress and low-sunlight periods), so I've been using La Roche-Posay Xerand dermal repair cream. Have been told to get an Aloe-Vera plant too, and snip off a bit of leaf now and again and rub it into the skin to help aswell. Last Christmas I found that another common herbal treatment did wonders for the psoriasis and my stress-levels. I'm planning another course of it soon enough.

Clinique's three step face care routine works for me, the M lotion is great. Nivea mens products are easily the worst things on the market and are to be avoided.
In terms of fragrance Gucci Rush, Issey Miyake the (original one) or JPG Le Male.

What do you wash your face with?
Shower gel. Usually Radox for men, or adidas.

What sort of scents/things that smell nice do you wear?
Adidas deodorant by day, then one of the following for going out - L'eu Dissey, Eternity, 1881, Contradiction.

What sort of facial lotions and balms do you use?
Nivea Aftershave Balm (sensitive) for post shaving relief.

Do you use anything to protect your skin from the elements?
Like Silas, vaseline to preven lips drying out.

Do you ever wear make-up and if so, what kind?

I get my back waxed once every 5 weeks or so, and keep everything else nice and tidy :D

    I would use:

Nivea Facial Scrub (twice a week) and nivea face wash (oil control) on the other days. With the oil control moisturiser twice a day.

Shower Gels would be Boss, before a night out or special occasion (too expensive otherwise), and Active sport other times (i just like the smell of it)

I use an electric shaver most days in the car, on the weekend it's mach 3 with the nivea shaving foam (for sensitive skin) with the nivea sensitive skin balm afterwards.

Smelly's, I would always stick to the Boss line for deodrants and colognes.

When playing football in the winter and cold days, I would always apply E45 cream to my face before going out, really makes a difference.

I have never really considered make up, but have worn foundation in patches when I fell asleep in the sun on holidays with my shades on and had a face like a panda bear !

"In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply a herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion."

(But to save any unnecessary followups, I've only just now seen your similar post in another thread.)

I've never seen them on the web, it's possible that they are in a range that is marketed for women, I know its the case wtih their body wash.
Appearently most of the mostuerisers are actually the same just packaged in a light girly tube or else in a dark grey hunky dude tube.

What do you wash your face with? Soap

What sort of scents/things that smell nice do you wear?
I use rightguard - mostly because it actually does seem to stop me sweating..

What sort of facial lotions and balms do you use? Does soap count?

Do you use anything to protect your skin from the elements? Clothes perhaps?

Do you ever wear make-up and if so, what kind? No.

Other stuff: Mach3 and gel for shaving - I've just found it is consistantly the best.

Quite frankly, despite the huge supposed strides in cosmetics, soap is just as good for most things.
