Can anyone explain how the music royalties system works. I read today that Michael Jackson town's the rights to back catalogue. What exactly does that mean. Does that man Paul McCarthy gets no royalties from his Beatles tracks or does it just mean that jacko gets to decide which Adverts and films the tunes appear in.

I take it you mean owns the rights to the beatles' music?
Basically I think he controls the use of the music, which is why people don't get to do a load of beatles covers.
