have to disagree there, got the original ngage in the €99 offer last year and haven't looked back. I think it's excellent as a mobile, battery could be longer but i still get 4 days of use before needing to charge it. reception and sound quality are excellent, screen is nice, some of the games (super monkeyball, splinter cell, ashen, kof, sonic and bomberman) are actually very good. Not to mention the ability to play videos on it.

Also it's the best phone i've ever used for composing txt messages, so easy and quick! Since i got the phone i also got a sony ericcson t630 and a motorola v180 and with each i've gone back to the ngage after a few weeks cos they just couldn't do as much (apart from taking crap pictures)

The N-gage is a fantastic gaming device.

Its pretty much the only handheld that you can have about 20 games at once, as well as videos, mp3's and whatever.

Works pretty well as a phone despite what people say, imo. Loved my one.

Bluetooth multiplayer is brilliant as well, get all the games and get a few friends to play with you

Either way they are very easy to unlock for free.

the phone is Meteor and will probably be locked to them but... as Mobileinfantry said if it's like the old ngage you can use an online dct4 calculator to generate a code based on the imei no. and unlock it in 5 mins.

i broke my n-gage buttons so can't play my games anymore and vodafone won't fix it


i loved it and i still use it for videos,mp3's, radio and phone calls just not texting

The original Ngages sucked. But they don't sell them anymore.

Dunnes in Bishopstown, Cork have loads apparently.

I notice that PLAY are selling some Ngage games for UK£2.99 such as Virtua Tennis and Super Monkey Ball.

Does the QD have a built in radio or was that just in the old version?

qd doesn't have the radio (or native mp3 player as far as i know)

I love mine too - have an original one. Don't know how someone was getting 4 days out of the battery though, I would only get 2 days and that's stretching it ..

The QD is supposed to have better battery life though.

Does anyone know if you can get a software mp3 player for it ?

It comes with Real One player on the cd, I think you can use this.

Is there a radio available for the QD. I have a radio headset for a nokia 7600 but its the wrong socket.

Shame, when you can use an MP3 as your ringtone anyway and you can download the full games.

Good phone but very big and you look like a dick talking on it.
I had a megadrive emu on it an was able to play desert strike. Twas cool.
Not sure I moved away from it , o yeah because it was huge.

im buyin stuff with the credit cause it came free and im going to use my old Vodaphone sim card with it. so the credit is no use to me and i cant give it to anyone else.
I am having a problem here though, ive downloaded a few games and bits and peices and they all come in as messages, i download them as it requests but then nothing happens. theres no games showing up or installation files in the applications menu. same with ringtones etc, they arent showing up after i download them. Anyone got any idea?

The thing about the ngage qd is its mono sound which is a pain if ur listin to mp3s,watching movies,using mp3 ringtones its a bit crap

Hmm usually when the message comes in and you open it it installs and goes into the menu/apps menu. If it was me i'd either.

1) get onto meteor and find out what the story is

2) download FExplorer from here (v useful app in any case) and look around your drives if this fails go back to option 1

Got a qd meself. To answer a few of the questions that were asked

- Can play mp3s quite easily dont know where to get the software tho mine came with it when i got it 2nd hand.
- Will play films using a program called smartmovie which will also convert avi/mpegs to proper size.
- Can play radio using a program via gprs but you'll have to pay for it.
- I'm getting around 3/4 days battery no problem.
- Loads of handy software available online such as nes/megadrive emalutors.
- Mono sound doesnt bother me at all.

K-trics question about the lines under the clock which keep changing is something which i would very much like to figure out myself aswell??
I think it might be something to with how much of the onboard ram the phone is using at any given time?

Went to Dunnes yesterday and I didn't see them anywhere.
I did see a small display rack of Meteor phones but there was only 4 phones on it,
none of them were the ngage. Possible they were sold out? Or just not in yet?

I went into dunnes today and saw a huge poster advertising it for €99, so I asked the girl at the checkout and she said "Youll have to ask our PR Executive" I just said "wtf" and walked out..
Anyone know anywhere that still has them closer to dublin?
