Dare to live and just pick two interesting looking ones up from the shelf without listening to them.

Tracer AMC. Instrumental Rock type music, along the lines of Mogwai (that kinda genre) but better. They're irish aswell, which is a bonus :p

Right so. Well, it might be tough not knowing what music you are familiar with and what you like. But if there's one album I could make everyone own it would be "On The Beach" - by Neil Young.
Its almost a religious experience for me at this stage. But enough about me...

I started listening to "Graceland" - by Paul Simon again recently and was blown away by how good it was (much better than I remembered). Probably very cheap in HMV too.

"Relationship Of Command" - by At The Drive-In is another must have album. Its a competely unique and perfectly formed album. It hasn't been matched before or since.

With regard to the other recommendations [above] - skip on Songs For Silvermann - unless you're a big Ben Folds fan. He's done better stuff.

Either way let us know what you get and give your opinion.

    :D

Bright Eyes - I'm wide awake.....
    Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous

You wont spend a better €30 all year.

    Decemberists - Picaresque
Tegan & Sara - So Jealous

Or blow the whole €30 on The Postal Service's - "Give Up"

I second that Decemberist one. Great band. Awesome new album.

    and also get something by

'Melon Helmet' by Knobjockey is indispensible

'A National Anthem for the Dispossesed' by Akwariuz Rizing will also be glued to your cd player once you get it.

    Enjoy!

'Long gone before daylight' - The cardigans. I promise you won't regret it.

'Brushfire fairytales' -Jack Johnson, the perfect summer chilled out album.

Who Killed The Zutons is a spectacular debut album. It's an eclectic, carnival of brilliance that will establish their unique identity for all to see.
Coming Up by Suede one of those classic albums where every tune is a cracker.Ideal album to stick on before you hit the town on a Saturday night
Trust me,buy these albums and you will become a better person

  • Colm, you need to pick up a copy of the Zutons Album, the Kings of Leon album (both actually but Aha shake is better), Bell x1's Music in Mouth if you haven't got it already and maybe go for a Josh Ritter album, i reckon you'd like his stuff.
