hi lads, i apologise in advance for my stupidity but maybe someone can just give me a simple yes / no one for this question... i have 2 sky boxes in my attic, one normal and one with a uk card, i use a pyramid transmitter/ receiver to allow me watch the channels in three rooms (equivilant to magic eye etc) so heres my stupid question... for the tv that is tuned to receive the skychannel is there any way of changing the channels on one box without the second box chanells also changing?

if there are alternatives, could anyone be so good as to send me on the right path? i have f1 on setanta on one box and itv on the other but changing channels during adds puts the boxes out,

    thanks in advance

instead of using the remote to change channel (and transmitting it to the other boxes) change channel using the buttons on the front of the box...

i'd get them out of the attic its the worst place you could put them from a reliability point of view

There is but its not cheap. There are several remotes by a US company called URC. These remotes comes with a 'base station' which has IR routing (ie it allows you to control several Sky boxes and talk to each one seperately) The remote talks to the base station by RF so you can use this anywhere in the house.

Theres the Mx-800 and the expensive but cool MX-3000. And here is where I got them from Click here

Or.. get a Sky+ box to replace the subscription box so that you'd have a Sky+ box and Sky digibox. The Sky+ remote doesn't work a Sky digibox and vice versa. Then you'll have recording features into the "bargain"! :)

Then the spare digibox can either be used in another room, or kept as a backup spare.
