Anyone just see this (RTE 1 21.30-22.30)? I only caught the last 20 mins or so but it seemed to confirm everythig you proberly ever suspected about the way the NRA and the Dept of Transport/Environment and the contractors think and behave.

    Mike.

Excellent programme. You couldn't make up some of that stuff.

I bet there'll be a bit of hootin' 'n' hellorin' in the Dail for a few days and then it'll be back to business as usual.

Certainly there's an attitude of "Rip them off, they're only poxy tax payers."

I guess the scandal of Dublin's invisible 'Strategic Cycle Network' is small peanuts compared the PPP rip-off.

Disgraceful stuff, but we all knew that's how things are. Like has already been said, there'll be a furore for a day or two, then back to business for Bertie's mates.

Does anyone know if they repeat it? If not I'll just have to watch on their crappy realplayer link.

A motorway between Mitchelstown and Cahir?

    They've lost it.

its actually a dual carriageway but yea seems pointless since that streach of road is as straight as they come.

I dont think people would stand for tolls on every streach of new road that is to be built.

Not much chance of Bertie ending up on a trolly - it would be off to a private room in Blackrock Clinic for him !

National disgrace the way taxpayers money is being wasted

    Average International road-building cost over-run: 20%

    Average Irish road-building cost over-run: 87%

......and to add insult to injury, the cost estimators get a BONUS for cost over-runs !!!
