Poker Chat Question

Interesting and very annoying thing happened to me over the weekend.
Playing 50c/1$ cash game and two players keep chatting in some language (not even sure if it was a language) that I never heard of.

Board comes K high, first guy types something in chat, bets and *mate* folds. Every time it happened the original typer had a big hand. Happened way too often to be a coincidence. Every time one of them won a pot the other would be ecstatic. It wasn't just n1, or nh but as if they had won a huge pot themselves. I was having a bad time of it, so people might say I wouldn't have cared less if I was winning, but it just pissed me off. I did call a chat manager and report it but I didn't hear back so I doubt if anything was done.

Should there be a rule (or is there) that English is the only language allowed in chat (as applies in casinos) ?

there is a rule on most sites for english language chat afaik. i saw it on ladbrokes before. a moderator told someone to talk in english when some players were typing in spanish.

what you're talking about is pure collusion and they should chase it up.

What site were you playing on? Sounds well dodgy but I'm sure people collude in MSN or Yahoo too. Its not as much help as you might think in Holdem, though in omaha 3 guys working together can really make a difference to each other's play and chances of winning. In Holdem, about the best you can do is get your mate out of the way of your big hands and vice versa. If they were really good they might be able to "seesaw" the betting, ie: continuously reraising a guy in the middle of them, but thats hard to engineer. To be honest, if they were any good at it, they wouldnt be doing it in the chat window of the table itself!! :)

    DeV.

It was Paddy Power and to be fair the host was on straight away, but I had to leave so didn't hear anything back.

They were next to each other, so they weren't raising people in between but I do think they were making sure that they didn't hurt each other. Now I could be totally wrong but it was way too fishy. I actually put it in my player notes, for each, to check if the other was at the table.

As I said earlier, if I see someone I know win a nice hand I say nh or vnh or the like, I don't go ballistic about it. Strange to say the least.
