ok i had to take the morning after pill this morning due to a split condom last night. it was the first time my boyfriend and i had sex, and we werent really planning it so i wasnt on the pill. anyway now im totally freaking out because the doctor told me that theyre not 100% effective (which is what i though originally). im freaking out even more because i'm mid-cycle. the doctor said to come back if i miss my next period, but that could be like 3weeks away because the m.a.p. can make you late apparently. anyway in people's experience does the m.a.p. work most times? has anyone known anytime when it hasnt?? i cant wait to find out if it worked, i cant stop thinking about what could happen if im pregnant....help!! looking for people's experiences here!!

Why don't you go visit another doctor to get a second opinion, they might be able to put your mind at ease. Or else go back to the same doctor and talk about it some more. That's what they are paid to do.

No contraception is 100% effective but you're probably ok. The morning afte pill is 95% effective when taken according to instructions(source) so you should be okay. I was paranoid about getting pregnant too when I started having sex but after a while, you get to trust contraceptives!

Any of the girls I went to school with who took the morning after got pregnant........it is pretty effective, and it makes you approx 10 days late. It also made them come on a little bit heavier then normal, and they got more PMSy.....but as for whether thats common or not I don't know.

One girl did a test to be sure, it came up positive, but she wasn't pregnant. The doctor said it was cause of the extra hormones in her system or something......give it a month and then if theres no sign of anything coming, do a test.

ok thanks i think ill go back to the doctors next week to get a pregnancy test..fingers crossed!! meanwhile ill just have to try and calm myself down, i dont know how i will but..!!

relax your not pregnant- if you took the morning after pill as the Dr told you your fine, Ive been in the same boat before but i took the pill 48hrs later and i was in mid cycle so dont worry your not pregnant
