    Im just wonderin,im looking for a summer job problem is though im only 17. I have an id thats perfect it works every time.What i need to know is if i used it to pretend to be 18 to get a job,in a bar say, is there any way that they could find out my actual age?I got a job saying I was 16 when I was only 15 and they never found out but is there stuff to do with tax or pay that might get me caught? Id be really grateful for any help ye could give....thanks.

    If the bar owner is working above board, you'll have to supply your PPSN and DOB for tax purposes. If there's a mismatch, Revenue will notice, and you'll be rumbled.

    I've never applied for a job in a bar, but any publican with an ounce of common sense would make sure his bar staff are legit. The penalties for allowing a minor to work behind a bar are quite severe IIRC. Just apply for a lounge boy job and gte on with it.

    besides, it's very doubtful that you'll get a job as a bar man as pubs/clubs tend to go for people with lots of experience.
